I am overjoyed to the extent of tearing up!! I cannot thank IV and all the people who have made an effort at turning this table.

Thank you for the information, Tazike. I've heard many conflicting viewpoints on this but none that say you immediately lose your status - I will look into it.
I can say, though, that I've traveled in and out of the US on my green card since the divorce became final, including telling an immigration official that I was now divorced on my most recent return, and yet I have still been allowed back in each time. Perhaps I have just been lucky. Also, I did mention on that last journey that I have a waiver application currently submitted.

At least, get a letter from your employer stating they won't revoke your I-140. If they agree to do so, then file a G-28 appointing a new attorney of your choice; however, if you are happy with your current one and find them affordable, let them know and ensure they will handle your case independent of your employer.

I worked for my employer at this vendor. At the time, my employer agreed on paper to give me a specified amount but only after the vendor pays. Vendor has been giving him troubles as regards my pay, so my employer made me wait frustratingly for months to give me pay. Just recently only after much trouble he released part of the amount. But now he learnt that he might have to go to court about the vendor. As a result, now he is denying me MY remaining pay!! I already waited for 4 months now, and can NOT take this strain anymore. My friends advised me to take this issue to Court or DOL. But my employer threatens that I will have no case.
Is that so?? Am I really required to wait like this months/years long if it takes that long for my employer to settle his matter with vendor?? Can an employer actually follow these kind of practice? Please provide your experienced advises.
Also kindly let me know how can I proceed if I want to file a DOL complaint?

This is the United States. They have rules here (except immigration). If they don't pay you, complain to DOL wage and hour division, and watch the fun..

My concern here is that IF I want to leave my employer without having to pay the 'damages' , Can I do that in case they are not able to find me a project in my state of residence (I have a house here in WA). I don't think they can force me to stay unpaid just so I don't break their agreement.
Also from the USCIS point of view, how safe or risky is it to be in this situation where the employer is not able to find any work for you just 1.5 months after GC approval? I can easily find work here, but if I can use this to get out of the agreement, I don't mind being unpaid for a few days...

1. You said you entered US in 12/06 with PP expiring 5/07......if PP has an expiry date of <180 days, the Immigration guy in India normally should not allow you to board the flight.
2. The last issued I-94 is the valid I-94.
3. Your logical option would be to talk to an Immigration Officer in your local USCIS office and do whatever he/she suggests. There are a couple of posts which talk about potential solutions, please research them.

I think we all should vote for just one immigration related question
After logging in, if you search with "immigration", I think there are atleast 25-35 posts which are related to us. I created my question just now and went thru all the 171 questions and voted FOR all of them which are good for us.

It is time to pass the DREAM Act.
DREAM Act is held hostage up by the CIR advocates just like skilled immigration.
But the repeated failures will weaken the CIR coalition as some Latino organizations
like MALDEF have grudgingly started thinking about piecemeal options.
Dream act gives GC to illegals brought here as children by illegal parents. But then why shouldn't non-USC children of H1B get
GC before non-USC children of illegals. It is extremely hard to justify illegals are ahead of line of legals. But legals themselves
are so massively backlogged that asking illegals to go to the end of the line behind legals means nothing (practically) for illegals
amnesty advocates. H1Bs/EBs will put up with the country quota pain but La Raza et al will never buy that.
In fact, it is hard core anti-amnesty camp that is using the "piecemeal" strategy and winning again and again by ratcheting up the pressure through piecemeal bills like REAL ID act, Arizona law and its copy cat in different states.

No you don't have to wait. find new employer and file a case on your employer.
According to H1, no matter he has to pay you.
Ultimately he can recover money from vendor, but he is deniying pay to you.

Nice shootin' Anders! I've done a lot of trial and error shutter speed experiments at airshows, for example, to get blurred propellers and backgrounds, but that requires tracking. I did a similar experiment for a friend who wanted a picture of his car, and I think each situation is so unique you just have to take a lot of shots to get the effect you want. I took ~100 frames to get this:

As per the lawyers I got advice from
1> F1 is non-immigrant visa unlike H1B which is dual intent visa.
2> There is very high likelihood of F1 getting rejected at embassy because I have already shown my intent to immigrate by applying for GC. Hence, they suggested I will have to change status to F1 in the US and not leave the US till I complete education and join another firm on H1B. I decided not to go this path because I go to India almost every year.
3> For reason stated in <1>, I cannot maintain both F1 and GC application. They suggested that I might slip through if I don't get RFE. However, chances of RFE are high when I would be renewing my EAD at the end of 1 year or dates become current as actually happened in July 07. I am happy I did not go this route.
4> For reason stated in <1>, I can however maintain both H1B and GC. This means if my company agrees to maintain my H1B and GC, I can take unpaid vacation and go to school full-time. I can then come back at the end of semester and work for the company during winter or summer and return to school full-time. I did not think this was feasible.
I will be completing my "part-time" MBA in May 08 because of the same reason. I have put part-time in quotes because many of my friends finished in 2 years and I will be finishing in two and half years.
Finally, the above is my personal opinion and experience and I am not a qualified lawyer. Please consult a qualified lawyer about your particular case.
