Hello,
My H1B was approved 3 weeks back i.e on July 1st and also received approval notice from USCIS on July 5th in USPS mail
But today I have received the status change from Approved to Document mailed from USCIS online system
Application Type: I129 , PETITION FOR A NONIMMIGRANT WORKER
Current Status: DOCUMENT OTHER THAN CARD OR TRAVEL DOCUMENT MAILED TO APPLICANT
On July 21, 2009, your document I129, PETITION FOR A NONIMMIGRANT WORKER was processed and mailed to the address on record. If you have not received it within 30 days of July 21, 2009, contact our customer service at 1-800-375-5283. The USCIS system if often messed up, as long as you have received your approval you are good to work on H-1. In rare cases they may decide to send an notice to revoke after they approve the case since they have overlooked something. I would not worry until i actually get such a notice, also you can have your employer call national customer service to make sure everything is okay with your approval.

Hello All,
I have couple of questions regarding Travel Document or Advance Parole.
My EAD has already been filed by my Lawyer but she is charging too much for filing Advance Parole or Travel Document,so here goes my questions.
- Is there a way to file for Travel Document myself, without involving the lawyer and if yes how can i do that
- Do I need to wait for my EAD Receipt being sent to me before filing for Travel Document.

I’m confused about using the EAD. Someone please clarify me….
I already received the EAD for me and my wife. Currently, I’m in the H1b which is expiring on Sep 2008 (6 years are over). My questions are?
•Can I be in H1b and still work another job as a part-time?
------ if the part time job is using a part time H1 only then you will be H1 and dependents in H4 using EAD meaning you lose H1/4
•If my wife wants to work using her EAD does it have any effect on her h4 status?
--- her status becomes AOS pending and H4 is gone
•If my wife loose her job during the use of her EAD what will be her status?
--- she will reamain AOS pending same as while using EAD
•I applied my I485 in July 2, 2007. As I already received my EAD, can I be unemployed after 180 days and start a business by myself?

•I know after receiving the AP I visit any their country. What will be my status after I come back? Still H1b or anything else?

Shameful, yes, but inevitable, because corruption feeds on desperation. Greg Siskind (following the original link) is not sure if there is a trend here, but it seems to me in recent years there is a perceptible shift in the occupation of these fraudsters, moving upscale from small-time crooks to the ringmasters who are supposed to help enforce immigration laws.

Currently I am in the pay roll of Company B(sister concern of A) in H1.
What are the things I have to do if I have to work in EAD? Can I use AC21 and move on? Do I have to work for Company A atleast for sometime?

Initially we applied for Labor in July 2001. Waited for 3.5 years to get approval. USCIS processed applications recieved in April 2001 for more than three years!! In January 2005 we finally got our Labor certification. In April 2005 we applied for I-140 and I-485 at the same time. I-140 was approved on July 2005. I-485 still pending due to the name check not complieted for primary applicant.

Hi,
I was let go by my company and am still under payroll for another month. I am told that once I am off the payroll, the company has to tell the lawyer to cancel my H1B.
Is there anyway that I could extend my H1B for a smooth H1B transfer to a new company? as I am still looking for a good offer at this stage.
And how long does it take for the government to process the cancellation of the H1B? And during that process if another company comes in and is willing to sponsor, would that be a smooth process?

That could be viewed as remuneration for services thus meeting the USCIS definition of employment. At least theorhetically, this would violate your H-1 status.

If the H1-B holder's labor is pending for at least a year then an 1 year extentions are granted. If the H1-B holder has an approved I-140 petition, the extention is granted for 3 years. I'm on my 9th year of H1B.

Mine is 2003 EB3 labor, I don�t have copy of the labor. Don�t know the job code and title, planning to switch AC21 and not sure how to get this code as i had already left the old blood sucking desi employer, any suggestions,
