The idea is that they would add some or all of these other proposals, or even amnesty itself, to the SAVE act to make it unattractive to the original sponsors�thus killing it.
It is doubtful that anything other than amnesty would kill this legislation.

down an amnesty bill. That would undoubtedly alienate one of their core
voter constituencies.
If the SAVE bill passes, the likely result is that support for legal immigration reform will increase substantially. A number of members of Congress have said that they support legal immigration reform, but first want to see new enforcement measures put into place"

OK, I guess you're starting out with RAW (since you save as TIFF). In that case maybe you need to download an update to the RAW plugin from Adode, it fixes an EXIF problem.

I hold F1 visa and my new job starts on Sept 1. The int'l student office of my current university mistakenly set my OPT start date on May 6. My OPT has been approved and EAD card arrived.
That is, I will have 120-plus "unemployment" days accumulated by early August, which will then violate the "90-day unemployment rule" of OPT.
I am under tremendous pressure and really want to hear your opinions.

I am new to all these and seeking for Family based GC category 2A applied in May 2005. According to the date in VB for the month of FEB we should get GC as of now but didn't happen.
I am confused about the "Note" that is written under the Family Based PREFERENCES chart in VB. Could some one make me understand in simple language what the below note says?
*NOTE: For February, 2A numbers EXEMPT from per-country limit are available to applicants from all countries with priority dates earlier than 01MAR04. 2A numbers SUBJECT to per-country limit are available to applicants chargeable to all countries EXCEPT MEXICO with priority dates beginning 01MAR04 and earlier than 01MAR06. (All 2A numbers provided for MEXICO are exempt from the per-country limit; there are no 2A numbers for MEXICO subject to per-country limit.)

Where did you get "25" days from? Also, wouldn't it depend whether you sent it to NSC or TSC?

Compliance is only for people who have filed on or before june 29th...So each of the service centres will complete receipting all I-485 filed on or before june 29th by the date mentioned in the compliance document....Then probably after that they will start rejecting I485 at their own pace..

Why is Tata giving such huge donations to schools in US that are already established?
I would think he should have given donations to schools or colleges in India that really need it. Especially in remote villages where there are no schools or proper infrastructure.

Has anyone requested premium processing of I-140 based on expiry of the sixth year of H1B. My 6th year H1B expires next month and I think I am eligible for premium processing.
You are eligible only if there is *no* other way of extending your H1-B. If your labor certificate is more than 1 year old, then you are not eligible. In that case you can get 1 year extension based on the LC.

Here is my story, your help & information will be appreciated...
1. I am currently working for Company A on L1B.
2. I applied for my H1B through company B while I was in US, which got approved and is valid from Oct 2007.
3. Now, my Company B which filed for my H1B had also applied for a Change of Status with the H1 & I have got my Change of Status notice along with the H1b approval. This means that my status will change to H1 from October and my L1B will not be valid.
Now, my problem is that I do not want to Join the New company until December.
However, can I still work with my company A on L1B even if after October.
Is there any Solution where we can reverse the change of Status?? and will i still be able to work on L1B after October even if my status is H1B. Will my L1B be valid or it will get cancelled???
