I would also suggest getting MenuMeters; it's an application that shows the specs of your system in the menu bar so you can always know what's going on with the system.
Another app is smbFanControl; it allows you to control the minimum speed of the fans and also has an option to show the speed at the top bar as well.
thank you this was the kind of answer i was looking for thanks again.

I bought them, they were uncomfortable. Couldn't enjoy the music cause 15 minutes in it felt like someone took a razor blade to my ears.
Took them back and got a Phillips set which are perfect (and $75 back).

Run hardware test.
What monitor/s and how are they connected?
Cheers
Hadn't thought of running a hardware test. Thanks.
I am using an 22" Viewsonic LED connected via MiniDisplay Port/MiniDisplay-DVI adapter.

The question though is when is it going to be updated?
I cannot bring myself to buy the current one knowing there is likely going to be an update soon well hopefully, so i am just waiting it out.

Could be the HDD has died. You might try booting from the install DVD to see if it will do that. There's a sticky (I think) about what to do when your mac won't boot.

You're in the Mac Pro forum. You may get better info in the Macbook Pro forum (http://forums.macrumors.com/forumdisplay.php?f=90).

Open Address Book preferences, click accounts and select synchronize with Google and configure. After that, open isync application, and click sync all. That is all you need :)

I've added a small convert vBulletin post to MediaWiki link in the template. This appears as a very small "->" link on the bottom left of the post, near the Report Post icon.
It is a simple tool you can use to convert vbulletin markup to wiki markup. Mostly helpful for converting a post with lots of links.
MacRumors.com link (http://www.macrumors.com)
Bold
Italics
Try it out with this post.

Hey everybody, thanks for the help. You have answered my questions. I do have one more though. After I rip a CD, then put it on my ipod, and I delete the CD from my itunes memory, why is it that when I plug my ipod back in, that CD (and playlist) are gone from my ipod? I guess the question is: Once I rip a CD, do I have to keep it in itunes? Thanks

Yes, I'd like to know about this too, so that I can have my boyfriend tape it for me while I'm at work! :D
That sounds too good to be true though...

I have a 2nd Gen iTouch (MB version)that I jailbroke to 4.1.
It drains the battery quickly after a recharge. I reset the network setting and this does help but it is annoying after every charge.
What version is best jailbreak for this issue? I believe I have my blogs saved from 3.12.
Thanks in advance for any advice.
there is no jailbreak that will help this issue. the best you can do is turn on the airplane mode and that should give you some extra juice

can't be arsed is a pretty common saying over here and simply means cannot be bothered. Invariably there are more sayings to describe apathy and laziness because they seem to come to us more readily!

Hello,
I am currently in the process of designing and wondering how do some sites make their navigation to follow along as the user scroll down the page and restores back to its original position (right below the header)?
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/15266744/target.jpg
Here is a rough sketch on what I meant, notice the navigation sticks to the top when the user scroll down, and when the page is scroll back up, the navigation will go back to its original position.
I've seen some site do this, one of them that I can recall is Apple Online Store (http://store.apple.com/us/configure/MC723LL/A?mco=MjEyOTY4OTQ) (Notice how the Summary and Spec panel moves). I've seen other sites do the same effect but can't recall the address or what it's called. Sorry that I can't give further information.
Thanks in advance.

did you wait 6 hours? Q and A says up to 6 hours wait for stats to appear. I'll wait on my site, just added and see what happens. the stats look nice however, GUI that is, still the same old stats collector it seems (js).
btw your site activity does say it's loading the 1 by 1 px gif and the js from google. also 404 on http://paulasaur.us/textpattern/ext/livearchive.js just thought you would like to know.

Really want the new Macbook Pro, but I can't quite afford it at the moment. I know Apple include several smaller refreshes under the radar between major updates like the current one, but I'm not quite sure how far apart they come.
Also, at the moment they have the boring printer offer when you buy a system, anyone know how often the free iPod offers come around instead?
Cheers!

Thanks, sim! Exactly what I wanted. It seems easy given how quickly you responded -- how can I do it for myself next time?
And thanks for the link, mac.
PS > use Wand tool (W) and set tolerance to 10 or so and then remove the white.
