Restoring your current iPad to it`s factory settings should be sufficient.
This can be done via iTunes.

I just wondered what internet connection you Web Developers have?
I currently have about about 7/8Mb/s download and manage fine with building sites, uploading downloading etc.
I might be moving to an area which only really has 1.5/2.5Mb/s download.
Is that usable for my job would you folk say and i'd only really notice the difference in downloading films from iTunes etc?
But general uploading and downloading site files whilst building wouldn't be too bad?
Any other Web Developers have a regular 1.5/2.5Mb/s speed?

Buying a computer with a Core 2 Duo CPU sounds like a bad idea right now...
That's what I was thinking too. (Regardless of the operating system)

I have a Quicksilver G4/867 with 640MB RAM. I run os 10.4. Is maxing out the RAM at 1.5MB worth it on this machine? How about upgrading to 10.5? This machine is mostly for the kids doing homework and internet, although I would like to start syncing ipad and iphone on it (the reason for 10.5). Thanks.

I thought you couldn't return at all after 14 days? Are you sure you can return up to 30 days?
You are right.
For iPhone returns, please refer to the iPhone Return Policy section below. For eligible Mac, iPad, iPod, and third-party products, you have up to 14 calendar days from the time you receive your item(s) to initiate a return.
It's 30 days for iphone

MySQL really should be run from a Server, or something that is on 24/7 with internet access.
The way MySQL works with PHP is you set a few variables (hostname, username, password, database) for PHP to use to connect. The hostname is whats most important here. If you did run MySQL from your computer, then you'd need a static IP address for that computer. Then you could simply set the hostname to that IP e.g. 192.12.123.52 etc.
I'd suggest looking for a host that already has MySQL/PHP installed, as it could potentially be much less hassle.

Sorry if this is an obivous question, but why is it hard to span between two externals with a Powerbook?
You can add support for a 2nd external monitor using the 15"17" PowerBooks PCMCIA slot: http://www.villagetronic.com/e_pr_vtbook.html

Apple recently upgraded their Java VM to 1.4.2 in OS X. But there is one "catch"- it can only be accessed through WebKit. This means only Safari can use the new Java! Other browsers (like Firefox) are stuck with 1.3.1, a very old version.
Does Apple have plans to fix this? This seems like a major drawback in OS X.
I agree that it's a stupid idea on Apple's part. I think Apple should not only fix this issue, but also eliminate the whole dual Java install thing - hopefully they'll do this with Tiger and make Java 5 the ONLY Java version on Mac OS X 10.4 "Tiger", accessible to all applications equally. While they're at it, QuickTime for Java needs to be fixed so that Java updates don't keep breaking it
EDIT: spelling

Are you running your MBA in clamshell mode while it's connected to your cinema display? If not, I'd suggest you do that as it allows the Graphics Chip in the MBA to direct all of its power to the monitor instead of splitting the power between the screen on the MBA and the screen on your monitor. This is most likely what's causing the stuttering.
If you do not know how to put the MBA in clamshell mode, refer to the link below.

I hope I was able to help. ;)

There are alot of keyboard shortcuts for Greek letter that are helpful in graphing
For example pi is (Alt/Option)+(P)
square root is (alt/option)+(V)

Are there any other options besides a $99 software? That's a little pricey for my budget.
Not that I know of ... good comes at a price.

I think someone is mistaken. If the logic board were dead, then it wouldnt work, power cord or otherwise.
+1, this. If you have a dead logic board, that = dead computer.

I'm quite new to OS X and iMovie and I'm trying to make a video with one of my favorite songs and two pictures.
I want the video to last the entire song and have it switch between the two pictures with the beat.
How do I do something like that?
oh, and if you know another good program to easily do this please feel free to share :) I'm not bound to using iMovie

Thanks! I agree, but I do not have a Core2Duo mac. I am the happy owner of a MacBook 1,1.
That link is about the Core Duo, not the Core 2 Duo. I would suspect that come release, it will no longer be possible.
