I think it's the web equivalent of a delivery yard for a shop. It's just for the people involved, not outsiders :D

Can't quite figure this one out, but I had problems with this when I tried upgrading my RAM with OWC 4GB (single stick). I am using Apple's latest base Mac Mini 2.4 C2D with 2GB RAM.
Switched back to stock 2GB that came with the unit and haven't had problems since. Just a few days ago, I came home and woke my computer from sleep and had the same fuzzy whitish colorish screen (I know this is bad English, but stick with me here). It looks the same as an old TV trying to tune in a station, but much smaller pixels. After about 5 seconds, everything went back to normal and I haven't had problems since. Any thoughts on what this could be? Bad GPU, bad RAM?, bad logic unit?
Run hardware test.
What monitor/s and how are they connected?
Cheers

That one day of not freezing on first boot was luck i guess.
Since then it's been something new everyday. Yesterday it hung on the blue screen on first boot and it worked on second boot. Today it gave me a kernal panic on first boot with a bunch of text on screen, second time it worked..
what is the deal with it not working on first boot?

I do want to do the job properly, hence me starting this thread. I am inquiring about which calibration kit works best. I have used the i1 display 2 and it seems to me to automatically calibrate. I was wondering if this is right. I am using the icc profiles for my epson 4900 and the epson media I am using but also want to get my screen correctly profiled in my workflow.
thanks

I've got a tech problem. This is rare, because I'm a pretty techy guy and most times I can sort things out.
My ipad is struggling with some video imports. The only reason I bought an iPad 2 was to use imovie and well . . .
I'm a journalist. I'm embedding with the armed forces. I want to be able to shoot video on my Sony CX110, pull the SD card out, transfer that video onto the ipad. Then edit it, lay down some basic voice over, and upload the footage directly to youtube/vimeo.
I didn't think this was a super hard idea. But my lowest camera output is an MPG file, that while the ipad 2 can see and import this file from the SD card reader, I cannot view or edit it in any way.
Is there an app that will let me work around this? I understand that I can run an MPG or even a nice high rez MTS file through a desktop converter that will let me play (and maybe edit?) on the ipad. But there isn't space in the back of an armoured vehicle for my desktop, or even a laptop really. Part of why the ipad was my first choice.
Did I make the wrong purchase? Or is there some way to jump the MPEG gap and get those files into imovie? Thanks for any and all help.
Cheers

Mac OS X 10.6. is 64-bit, but it has two kernels, and the 64-bit kernel only loads when you set it to or on the Xserve as far as I know.
The 32-bit kernel, loaded standardly, will not limit your overall RAM usage, as many Macs can support more than 2GB RAM nowadays, despite a 32-bit kernel.
Take a look at the KIND column in Activity Monitor.
For example: I have 10.6, load the 32-bit kernel and many of my 64-bit applications can take up 3GB RAM, and would even more if I had more than 4GB.

I think what you have is an adapter for the ‘pismo’ PowerBook, which is just 45W instead of 60W (both are 24V so chances are that you haven’t broken anything yet).
Below is what google turned up, but I am afraid they are hard to come by these days.
PowerBook G3 Series Power Adapter
M6384LL/A
PowerBook G3 Series Power Adapter (for Europe and U.K.)
M6548G/A
Output voltage
24 V
Specification
Apple PowerBook G3 series (1998, 1999), 1400 series, 3400 series, iBook Notebook
Capacity
60 W
Power accessories output current
3.2 A

Ketchup is really corrosive, I found that you can use it to polish copper. If you want to try to clean it do it soon.

I'm afraid you'll be in the US$200 range (assuming you're using US currency). A new dell ultrasharp 17" will be less than $300, and a dell 2005fpw can be had between $400 and $500 (occasionally below $400)

Yes, you can. Just go online to your account and it is a simple few clicks.

Have you always got them or is this a new thing? Perhaps you have new shoes or a new carpet? Or is it especially dry weather? YOU could be building up static charge and discharging it on any grounded object!

Don't know the cause, just wanted to mention that you're not alone. Had the same thing happen on more than one occasion today, minus the settings changes, when trying to email some files via GoodReader.

Meh. Canadian airsoft are required by law to be transparent. I don't have one, but they look very cheap compared to black ones, even if the insides are the same.

It may/may not depending how old the machine is. But I have no problem like yours. My advise is to just file a bug report.
may I ask where do I file one ?
thanks again for the info

Another observation using a WiFi/3G iPad 2 (Verizon) --
Frequently this iPad 2 will not connect to the 3G network or to known WiFi until the unit is turned off and then back on.
For example, this morning I was sitting in my car in a parking lot and needed to get some information on the web. The area I was in is a good 3G location. I typically keep the 3G off until I need it. I used the Cellular Data on/off slider and turned on the 3G, and even after waiting a few minutes there was no indication of a 3G connection.
With the Cellular Data slider turned on I then used the Airplane Mode slider and turned that on then off. Only when it was turned off did the upper left corner indicate that it was searching for a 3G signal. It never found one.
I had to turn the unit off then back on again to get the 3G connection. I have noticed this as well with WiFi, but not as frequently as the 3G connection.
