Sounds good, although perhaps it could be expanded to also include iPod related guides. While we're at it, we might as well create some other subcategories; some possibilities are Hardware Guides, Programming Guides and Troubleshooting Guides.
Also, I don't think Ugly Guides should be a subcategory of Guides. The articles in it aren't necessarily guides, they can be any page that needs cleaning up. Perhaps it could also be renamed to something less "harsh", such as "Articles for Cleanup".

Ok, I'll be the jerk and point out that the OP posted a question about a Mac Book Pro on the Mac Pro forum.
Not a problem, we're all nice people (mostly) and are happy to help. But you might get more first-hand testimonials if you post in the right forum.
I am paranoid about things overheating. I'd rather have the noise from extra fans than an burned up processor.
I'd probably just get the latest and greatest that I could afford, and then buy the extended apple care. That way you're covered if it does burn up.
Apple is the only company that I would buy an extended warranty from. I don't trust other manufacturers enough to spend enough money to worry about a warranty.

I must be missing something here because it can't be this difficult.
Please excuse me as I am new to final cut but very proficient in Sony Vegas.
I have 8 wav files that are produced from a digital recorder. I cannot change the output format of these files. When I choose File - import - files and point to the wav files, they import into the project.
Dragging them to the time line shows the red rendering line and beeps when you play back. If you render audio only, they play back fine.
Now I'd like to add an audio effect. The moment I do this, the red rendering line appears again and I have to re-render audio
I was informed by one of the people at the Apple store that Mac's dont really like wav files and they should be converted to aiff prior to importing. OK
He told me how to do this using Itunes (drag the files into Itunes - highlight all of them and right click - convert to aiff)
I figured my problems are solved
Re-import the new aiff files into Final Cut Express and the exact same thing happens. (red line - have to re-render)
Besides adding an audio effect, there are many times when I have to splice the audio file and move a section a bit to the right or left, to line up with the video, having to re-render each time would render this program useless.
I'm sure I am doing something wrong.
Any help is appreciated

Had a SGP on my Droid and it was very good, but I am not using a protector on my IP4. I don't think it needs it.

In computers, antennae are generally used in conjunction with wireless transceivers to send and receive data wirelessly. If I was a betting man, I'd guess that your antenna cable came from the Mini's 802.11 antenna.

Oh, dude. Nothing could be further from the truth... the 27" iMac's desktop is a profound pleasure to navigate. If you're a graphics man, I'm certain you'll appreciate it.

I just checked with my gps module and the ipod touch 2g with iOS4 does not detect the bluetooth gps OR the bluetooth keyboard. So I am still hoping the 4th gen ipod touch does this...

Well in iMovie it would be pretty simple, import your song and pictures of choice and just click and drag the pictures and song into your timeline and go from there. I'm not sure how exactly you plan on doing it to the beat without a more professional editing software- somewhere along the lines of Final Cut Pro (or Express).

Hey i'm currently redecorating my bedroom and want to see how other people have theirs decorated, so as to get some ideas for myself.
Post away! :)
Wow, you had the same idea as me. I'm also re-doing my room and need ideas. But mostly paint ideas.

Use 7-zip to extract the files from the MSI (BootCamp.msi for 32 bit and BootCamp64.msi for 64 bit). Then it's very similar to the video.

Thanks. Does this mean I need Windows in boot camp first??

Thans guys,
I tried spellign out with yarn (first thought before I created this thread), and that avenue didn't work out so great. I ended up hand drawing everything (ball of yarn and the needed text), and that turned out well. Thanks for the rope brushes!

hmmm, ok thats very interesting... what version of flash are you using?
I managed to find out what was wrong and have now got the spatialtest.swf fully working inside the mainsite.swf. I had to lock the root to the placeholder movieclip.
I dont know why the movies wouldnt work for you, am pretty sure i exported them all properly.
Thanks for taking the time to look at it though.
Cheers
Rich.

Mind selling that Xbox to a trusted MR member for a little under $500? I would really appreciate it.
I would, but I waited in line for 17 hours just to sell it to pay off some debt before I move to NYC.
I'm sorry.

I am not sure what you mean by 'cheap', but I would recommend the Canon A510 that has been recently released. Its relatively small, although it still cant been the SD200-500 series, uses 2x AA batteries and takes SD card.
It is 3.2 MP (more than enough for 4x6 prints) comes with a 4x optical zoom and a flash head that changes with the zoom(extends the reach of the flash)! In addition, it also allows for complete manual control of the camera settings, which older lower-end digicams often lack.
The list price is $199 and I am pretty sure you can get a lower price if you look around.
I cant comment on whether it works natively with OS X (probably not), but I always use an external card read anyways after a bad experience in which the usb port on my camera broke after too much plugging to the computer....

Except HFS+ today wouldn't recognize itself if it saw its own picture from the 8.1 days.
Yes, and no. Yes, a lot of cool stuff has been added, but your Snow Leopard drive will still mount on an 8.1 machine. The journal will be reset, the file system event record for time machine will be reset, your spotlight database will likely need to be recreated, and you won't be able to read any files compressed for Snow Leopard, but otherwise, you'll be able to get to your files. Oh wait... no you won't... unless you're using an Apple Partition Map instead of GUID Partition Table (which technically has very little to do with HFS+ itself)... It's both cool and sad at the same time.
Last rumors I heard hinted that since the ZFS licensing fell through, Apple's working internally on their own new file system, which is almost a given, really.
