Does anybody know when and wether at all google maps update 5.0 (and above) will come to iOS? I mean Apple pays to Google for the maps right?
Probably not. That's why you usually see android phones having a nicer Gmaps app than iPhone users.

I should have said that I've tried the bannerViewActionDidFinish-function, but when dismissing the iAd it isn't called.
Perhaps the problem is that I'm using it incorrectly if that is indeed the function to be used.

Here's my suggestion -
Riser A
DIMM 1: 4GB
DIMM 2: 2GB
DIMM 3: 1GB
DIMM 4:
RISER B:
DIMM 1: 4GB
DIMM 2: 2GB
DIMM 3: 1GB
DIMM 4:
You can't do that as they have to be installed in pairs.
The optimum configuration is A:4,4,0,0 B:2,2,1,1 as this places more equal amounts of memory on each riser.

Does MacRumors give users the capability to block selected users? There are a couple users who frequently reply to my posts, derail the topic, and make this forum much less useful to me. I am considering not posting to this forum anymore because of this.

You can buy 'em contract free @ AT&T store or at the apple store.
It'll still be locked to AT&T. If you are gonna spend $700 on a contract free iphone, why not dish out an extra $300 and just get a factory unlocked iPhone on eBay . . .it'll work w/ any carrier and you dont have to woirrya bout it getting locked after you upgrade the firmware

Mr. Schmidt says the two companies spent a long time trying to find common ground. He was pleasantly surprised that there was a lot of common ground. He says the two companies are dependent upon each other.
I assume he's talking about Android and the handsets Verizon sells.
One question that the plan does definitively answer is that the non-discrimination proposal would never apply to wireless.
How interesting. I wonder what makes them distinguish between mobile Internet and "desktop" Internet. This really does sound like more of a business proposition between the two companies, disguised as a public service.

I had ordered 8 CDs from Amazon.com (7 used, 1 new) from Amazon.com, and I got the used ones in under a week. The new one was only 25 cents, and took longer to be delivered.
The only things I found to be a bytch with on the site were specific rules on how to use my gift certificate, and the S&H charges for each CD.
Usually, the MacMall, MacZone, MacConnection and MacWarehouse prices stay relatively the same, for whatever reason. Most other places will probably have something cheaper.

Looking for a game with good online play and reasonable single player.
I dont really care about graphics, because i can run Bf1942 on high settings(yes, the requirements for it suck that bad that gma950 can run it) and im not a gamer.

I was reading through some archives on mac security and came across an article detailing a trojan hidden in an mp3 file that surfaced 2004 and could affect mac operating systems.
This got me wondering about the way such threats can be packaged across all platforms and then dragged this question from somewhere out of my paranoid subconscious:
If an mp3 contained any kind of malware (trojan/virus, thinking cross platform here) and it could play music what would happen if it was burned as an audio cd and then ripped back to mp3 file?
Would the malware remain intact and just take up residence in the newly ripped file or would it be destroyed?
What if it were to be burned as an audio cd then ripped back into a different file format, flac, aac etc.
Would the malware survive that?
Converted from mp3 to a different file format, how about that?
In fact, would it be possible to create an audio cd from an infected file without the burning software crashing before it was done?
Any ideas, theories or  experiences?
This isn't a specific mac question, more of a general cross platform just kind of wonderin' if anyone else has thought of it question.
I haven't got an infected mp3 file to try else I'd give it a go on my old windows pc to see what happens.

Ive installed Linux (Suse, RedHat, Debian) and BSD on VPC. It is (in theory) a virtual PC so anything that would be able to beinstalled on a PC could be installed on VPC. There are a few issues with some OS's but all in all its pretty decent.

Anyone here collect (or originally buy) any of the Mac clones? I still have a PowerComputing Power 100 at my brother's house. I remember the cartoon on the powercc website when they lost their clone license. I should have saved it. :) Anyone have a copy? It was one of their trademark cartoons saying "OH #@!$@#$!" and it was up for a month I think.

I've had these troubles for YEARS with Adium. Fortunately, I just gave up on using anything but Adium for my MSN-ing, and now that MSN is slowly dying off (at least amongst my friends), I've actually moved to iChat w/Facebook chat instead.
Seems that's what all the cool kids are doing these days.

The problem is that I have an identical macbook pro that needs the same set up, so I ghosted the disk, and restored the ghost image to the second machine.
You may need to do a clean install of Windows in the bootcamp partition. Just as an aside, you won't be able to run Windows for more than 30 days unless you have a separate license for the 2nd machine (i.e. - you won't be able to register both installs with MS, using the same license).

We had to consider other options for back-up.
After lugging around a MBP we broke down and got one of these:
http://www.nextodi.com/product/NVS2500_en.html
We went with the older 2500 since we dont use P2 here.
Mostly CFs for Canons and RED MX.
As far as practical back-up, gameface has it on the nose :)

In what instances CAN I lose the carrier unlock? Restoring it maybe?

Hi any and all. Hoping someone in the community can help me figure out a problem I'm having.
I have Furtech GT40 24/96 USB DAC, which I really recommend for things like ripping vinyl. Its like three boxes in one.
But I have a problem.
I have a brand new Macbook Air and when I connect the GT 40 to the Air and attempt to record using Audacity or Adobe Audition (beta) I get a 10db hum in only the right channel. Weird thing is, I get the hum the moment I connect, so even if there is no analog input or output connected to the GT 40, only the USB between the Air and the unit, when I start to monitor in the recording program I see the steady hum. And when I record, it is there in the background.
The same GT40 unit hooked up identically to my one year old iMac at home has no hum whatsoever. It is rock solid quiet.
What is it about the Air that would cause this problem? I thought for days something was wrong with the GT40 until I hooked it up to troubleshoot and realized it works perfectly on the bigger computer.
Thanks in advance if you can offer any theories.
Erik
