This could be a dumb question, but if I use Open SSH to replace certain system files (nothing major, stuff like dock/icons) and then delete OpenSSH, is this likely to create any problems?
Not sure, but I think it wouldnt affect anything except that you'll lose the privilege to view and edit them.

Did anyone buy this?
I played the demo and for some reason couldn't get into it. I'm a big fan of the series (first 3 games anyway), but the constant wise-cracking humor in this one really put me off. Just felt like they were trying too hard, "hey let's make him say funny stuff ALL THE TIME, it's what the fans like". Plenty of goofy one-liners...but maybe TOO many?
Did anyone else get that feeling? Does it ease up when the actual game progresses? And besides all that, is it a good adventure game? Story, puzzles, length?
Would love to hear some opinions!

I'll just be watching it on my laptop or maybe the HDTV, so I'd like to keep it at the same quality as it was shot. I'm just not sure about the correct settings to output. I'll try seisend's advice and see how that works out.

So I looked up online videos and was brought to this forum. I'm not a Mac user, but am almost 40 and have been duped a time or two.
I was linked to this website via facebook: link removed
There is a youtube video on that page, which when I clicked on the video it took me to here: link removed
It seems to be too good to be true, and I was hoping video people here would be able to tell me if it's ok, to sign up for that.
Thank you!

See What do I do about annoying ads? (http://guides.macrumors.com/Help:MacRumors_FAQ#What_do_I_do_about_annoying_ads.3F).
If you see it again, try to get the URL it links to and post it back here.

Ah yes... I remember watching "Plan 9 from Outer Space" on that curvy "screen". They projected it against the side of that building one night. By the time I moved away from Saint Louis, they ripped all the interesting stuff out of there, I heard. Got rid of the star projector and everything.
Free museums rock, and for some reason I feel much better about dropping a $10 in the donation box than paying the mandatory $4 that other museums charge.

It really depends on what you want to do. What line of work do you plan on going into? Or what kind of work are you in currently? Some businessed require PCs, some require Macs, some have no computer requirement at all.
Most colleges are mac friendly nowdays, as long as you have Word or a viable alternative. But, once again, it depends on the college and sometimes even individual professors.
Good luck,
scem0

zen's advice is good. If it is a blown capacitor issue and you are handy with a solder, you stand a good chance of getting it up and running.
However, if it is the video card that is toast, you should pass on the purchase. Is it theoretically possible to replace the video card? Yes. Is it easy, or worth the effort. Probably not.
If you're able to inspect the machine, it would be good to bring a phillips screwdriver and open up the back of the computer to check the caps. If possible, you could also try to drive an external display. If the internal display panel is the problem, don't bother buying the machine either.
My $0.02, I'd stay away from this iMac. The iSight G5 iMacs are less problematic than the pre-iSight models, and you can find a good deal on many of these machines if you hunt around.
Were it me, I'd contact the seller and say, "Look, the machine isn't worth $120 in its current state. If you can't sell it at your asking price, call me back if you just want to unload it. I'll give you $50 for it." If they take you up on it, great. If not, move along, nothing to see here.

If you manage the playlists and track, album, artist, etc details in iTunes, they will transfer to each device in the same way.

I saw an ad on my local craigslist selling an iPod 2G for about $75. I'm kinda interested on getting it since it was one of the first few. He says it's in good condition and working. What I meant by "work" is will it be able to sync up to my iTunes on my MBP? I read that iPod Mini's no longer sync up with iTunes. I want to buy this off him but I would like to make sure first. :) Thanks for reading.

I have only a vague clue of what you mean by artistic music. If you mean 'highly original, individual music from artists that don't comform to the rules of today's pop culture', then I think I can help you. In that case, I'll attempt to give you some suggestions. Do with them what you like.

Earlier today, a MacRumors reader notified us that the white iPhone 4 is ever so slightly larger than the black iPhone 4. It's a small difference, but enough that the white iPhone 4 wouldn't fit in his Incase slider case:
Just picked up the white iPhone 4 and realized it doesn't fit into my Incase slider case. It appears that Apple has increased the size of the plastic that borders the glass on both sides by about 1mm.

http://images.macrumors.com/article/2011/04/28/164154-tumblr_lkdqkyjHla1qa45ly.jpg

Ryan Cash (http://ryancash.net/post/5019047695/white-iphone-4-is-thicker) of Marketcircle (http://www.marketcircle.com/) noticed the same and noticed it just by picking it up.
A colleague of mine just picked up a 16 GB iPhone 4 in white. I was a bit surprised when I picked it up off his desk (I had my black 32 GB in my other hand at the same time) it immediately felt thicker.
Cash offers some comparison photos (http://ryancash.net/post/5019047695/white-iphone-4-is-thicker) between the white and black iPhone 4 showing the slight difference. The small different may be enough to affect tight fitting slider cases as evidenced by our reader's experience.

rsync will do the job. If you want a fancy GUI (but with a little less options) you can use Carbon Copy Cloner as well.
As long as the volume is mountable (which I assume you NAS shares are), you can back it up.

I think the issue is the iTunes account. As long as you are using the same iTunes account you can sync as many iPhones as you want. In fact, I sync 3 iPhones with my iTunes account.
I'm not sure if you can set up two iTunes accounts on one computer. Once you answer that you'll know how to proceed.

Just got to the hostpital to visit a family member and connected to their internet. I'm on AIM via iChat and I'm on the internet which all seem to work just fine. However, my Mail program won't retrieve any of my emails. Does anybody know why or how I can fix this? Have some work I need to get done!
how are you connected to the internet at the hospital? is it on the hospital wifi? They may by blocking certain access?
