SMC fan control can control the fans individually but OSX will always override fan control software if the laptop heats up to the point to that it needs to cool down. What you can try is preset the good fan to 3000 rpm's or so and see if that keeps the computer cool enough so OSX does not try to ramp the other fan up.
You best bet is to just fix the fans but this may be a temporary solution.

That is completely and utterly impossible on iOS using the standard SDK. It may be possible on jailbroken devices but I have nothing to do with them.
I am a beginner in iOS dev .... but your reply is that of an expert in this domain - saying a big NO -
Hope i can reach those heights in iOS dev soon! :)
Just for info :
My AppName is NewsPoster
I want my NewsPoster app to be launced when user goes to www.google.com/news in his/her mobile browser.

You cannot play BF2 on the GMA950 because it requires hardware transform and lighting, which the GMA950 doesn't have. Sorry.

That signals to me that you may have synced his apps on to your iPad. Therefore when the AppStore show that it has updates available, it will update your apps (after logging in) and when it attempts to update the other apps (it requires his/hers account log in info as well. Happened to me before and the only way i found to get rid of that annoyance is to uninstall those apps and redownload them while you are logged into your account.

I am video editor and have an Intensity pro card as well. And all its good for is displaying my video from FCP and Motion to a TV monitor. And half the time that is an issue just to get that to work. There own capture software doesn't even work with their own ****. No video just audio maybe.
So I called them about problems I was having and they said well it works with our setup. Which means that have the most basic setup of a computer and Video Editing software and nothing else installed or attached.
WOW! thanks for the help BlackMagic. That cleared up a lot.
If you are going OUT to TV monitor you can always go out from a GT120 > DVI > HDMI(?!)
That might solve your Blackmagic woes. For me, I have to capture a signal coming in and get it to Skype... THAT is the big stumper for me.

How would one go about creating a menu for a c program? The menu would allow the user to select where they want to go in the program. For example:
1)View Inventory
2)Add Inventory
3)Remove Inventory
4)Save
5)Exit
Something along those lines and the user would input 1-5 and then it would take them to the next part of the program. How would a menu driven program work? I tried the search but no luck, any links to examples or simple explanation would be greatly appreciated. :apple:

Some things to consider:
How portable does it need to be? You can just put your iPod in your pocket, but the iPad is more of an effort to carry around. There will almost certainly be times that you would have your iPod with you, but not your iPad.
Do you need 3g? If so then you need either the iPad or a mifi.
If you will be playing lots of games then the iPad has more options (it can play most iPod games plus some that the iPod doesn't).
If you haven't already then have a play with it. Personally, I find the iPod screen a bit small, both for reading and operating.
Do you need cameras? If so, the original iPad isn't for you.
Basically, nobody else can say what will fit your needs best. You need to decide exactly what you want it for and then work out what best fits your needs.

Apple store. It seems though that Apple stores and targets get shipments in on Wednesday or Tuesday night. That seems to be consistent with all of the apple stores and targets around these parts.

Since when did Google make speakers??? Must be some sort of a trademark infringement from a shady small time company. Vote: not worth your consideration.

I'm sure this might be possibly with jailbreaking. Not on stock OS though.

I changed the energy saver preferences to sleep in five minutes instead of 15. We'll see if anything happens. If the results are still negative, I'll post back test results.
Thanks

15 al pbook......i just upgraded to 1.5 gb from 512.....im running off my external now which is pretty zippy.....syst prefs icon loads on clikc (i think the drive speed is 7200rpm though) and before on the internal it was like 2bounces and a half....i think the new internal drive is a 5400....so it should be fairly faster then what it is now
I've heard that the difference between 4200 and 5400 is MUCH more noticeable than 5400 to 7200, so nice job.
My girlfriend's PowerBook from the latest generation (5400 RPM hd) loads things noticeably faster than my iBook.

I have a site already but am changing the way the shopping cart is set up. The trouble is I need MySQL and my host does not support it. I have been told I can run MySQL on a local machine and somehow point the new php cart to it. My question is how do I do this? I need very basic step by step information on how to do this. Presently, I have downloaded MySQL and installed it.

LOL!! You know what I mean! :D After all, at least I didn't say "you may get responses from prettier people with this tip!" :D
That I wouldn't have a problem with though, as there are a lot of prettier people out there, even though it is a small planet. My credo, scio nescio, also applies to superficial body structures. Or something like that. Off to bake some cake. Or something similar.

I currently have my own forum (phpbb) that I run on my website. I recently just got a new hosting provider and I'd like to transfer my forum from my older provider to the new one.
The problem I run into is that because my database is about 25 megs in size I have to find some way to break it down into smaller chunks because they will not allow me to upload the file in any larger than two mb chunks.
Anyone out there have any experience with this that they might be able to offer some advice?

What about the UPC codes, would I need them if I wanted to bring the computer into an Apple Store or something?
They just need the serial number on the back of your laptop
You can find the serial number on the back or in the system profile

What is the best route to go:
I will be purchasing a Rev. C PowerMac in August and i don't know what to do regarding monitors.
a) 19 or 20" LCD...I can seem to find a decent 19" LCD with resolution more than 1280x1024 and i want something more like 1600x1200. Does anybody have a good monitor in mind, in the sub 5 or 6 hundred range?
b) Dual 17s w/ Radeon 9800 XT
What's the cheaper way to go? I figure both will be nice in the end but I am on somewhat of a budget. (Nothing more than ~2700)
